Kent Primary School Swimming Champs 2020
The very best of luck to Luke, Daria, India, Siena, Klara and Luke who are competing in the Kent Primary School Swimming champs in Margate this weekend. Many Thanks to Kevin Draper for running the team and to parents for arranging transport and supporting.
On Tuesday 10th March a group of children from years 5 and 6 attended the WOKSSA Hockey Festival at Marden Sports club.
The children worked very hard with some mixed results this time, losing 2 matches and drawing 2. The enjoyed their games and never gave up battling. Their sportsmanship was creditable.
Many thanks and well done to Will T, Daria, Cayden, Anna, Jasmine, Eryn, Anna, Sam, Klara and Bella B.
Thank you too to the parents who helped with lifts and supported the team.
On Tuesday 4th February 2 teams of year 4 children plus myself and Mr Gooman attended the WOKSSA new Age Kurling Festival at the Weald Sports Centre. Kurling is a great, fun sport that can be enjoyed by children of any age and ability.
Our children played well, inproving with every stone.
My group came joint 4th in their group and Mr Goodman's came third in theirs; he will never let me forget this!
Many thanks tgo the parents for cheering their children along and to Mr Goodman for joining us and allowing us to bring 2 groups of children.
Well done to Toby, Henry O, Mackenzie, Zack B, Lily S, Erin, Hollie and Jessamy.
Huge congratulations to Luke Draper and his third place finish in the Year Seven Kent Cross Country Champs in Dover last weekend. Luke was invited to take part in thie race after finishing in first place in the year six race a few weeks ago. What a superstar!!!
Well done to our year five and six swimming team who werer victorious at the WOKSSA Swimming Gala. The children all swam brilliantly and cheered loudly!!
Special thanks to Luke and Louis for swimming an extra race and to Leon for turning up even though he was definately poorly!!!
Congratulations to Luke, Archie, India, Daria, Anna, James, Louis, Leon, Anais, Sienna and Klara.
On Tuesday 3rd December a hardy group of year five and six children set of bright and early for the Angel Centre in Tonbridge.
Here they competed against 23 other schools for the Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Weald area in a Sporthall Athletics competition. This involves a mass of relays, throws and jumps. The competition was fierce and our team competed very well. It was the first time that we had taken part in this event for quite some years. We finished the morning in 7th position out of 23.
Well done to Leon, Louis, Rafferty, Lola, Bella, Jack, Sam, Cole, Will T, Cayden, Luke, Matty, Izzy, Emilia, Anna, Eryn, Lily, Daniella and Daria.
Thank you to Mrs Rialton for accompanying me on the minibus and to Ali Tuson and Mr Woollard for transporting other children. Much thanks too to all the parents that came along to support us.
On a wet and windy Saturday 23rd November myself and a few hardy children braved the wilds of Brands Hatch to take part in the Kent Cross Country Champs. Our runners all did brilliantly. Each race had over 120 children in, some almost 200!! Well done to Bella Barstow, Leon Sherwin, Eva Weeks and Luke Draper. All runners finished in the top third with Luke winning his race, finishing way ahead of the second placed boy. Luke’s race had about 180 children in. Luke will now go forward to represent Kent at the National Cross Country Championships in the Spring.
Thank you to parents for bringing their children
Tuesday 12th November a group of year six boys competed at the
Dulwich Football festival. The boys played all of every game due to a last
minute drop out and didn’t tire once. The weather was pretty grim with plenty
of wind and rain and, though there was a fair bit of shivering, there was no
complaining. The team won all their group matches which then put them through
to the premier league play offs! They then won the next 2 games which put them
through to the final. Unfortunately, they lost this game 2-0, to an outstanding
team from Marden. We finished the festival as runners up. Thank you to the
parents who came along to cheer the boys despite the weather. Thanks you to Mr
and Mrs Barker for accompanying me in the minibus. Well done to Will T, Cayden,
Matty, Sam, Cole, Alexander and Luke
During this Rugby World cvup we have been set a digital challemge by TWKSSA. We have to see how many passes we can make in 1 minute and then send a video in to be judged. Year 3 made 47 passes. We did, however, make 15 videos to achieve that!!!!
On Tuesday 17th a small group of year five children took part in the WOKSSA Football festival. It was a beautiful evening on the Glebe field in Benenden and the boys did a sterling job, never letting their heads go down against opposition from older and bigger teams. They showed great team spirit and were great ambassadors for the school. Special mention must go to Sam who stepped in at 8pm the night before so that we could make a team to attend.
Well done to Isaac, Rafferty, Louis, Brandon, Dylan, Sam and Eddie.
Thank you to Ali for courageously accompanying me on the minibus.
