Click here to see the latest DFE Performance Tables for our school.

The league table, produced by the Sunday Times newspaper, using SAT test level scores between 2013 and 2015, overall identified seven Kent primary schools which were in the top 250 in the country of which I am delighted to inform you Goudhurst & Kilndown CEP School was one of them.

The other schools featured were:

  • St Thomas' Church of England Primary School in Groombridge at number 127
  • Chislehurst Church of England Primary School at number 142
  • Goudhurst and Kilndown Church of England Primary School in Cranbrook at 157
  • Sevenoaks Primary School at number 248

The tables were drawn up using the number of children achieving a Level Five in their Key Stage Two in reading, writing and maths taken as children complete their primary school education.

In brief...

We strive for  continuous improvement and we seek recognition of the high standards we achieve through external inspection and awards and accreditation schemes.  As a Church of England School we are inspected both by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) and the National Society for Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS).

 In more detail...

Ofsted Inspection
We are very proud of the outcome from our most recent Ofsted Inspection (March 2014) that judged us to be “Outstanding” in all areas of the inspection framework.  Comments from the Inspectors include "Behaviour is exceptional. Pupils are immensely proud of their school and of the learning they are doing. They feel that teachers give them work to do which is very interesting, and almost always just hard enough. They are also very proud of their sporting, musical and other achievements." and "Pupils consistently reach standards which are above average. By the end of Year 6, pupils’ attainment is typically well above average. Standards in writing, in particular, have risen to match those in reading and mathematics. Far more pupils than average reach the highest National Curriculum levels."  You can read the full Ofsted report by clicking on the icon below:

SIAS Inspection
In the 2013 SIAS Inspection the school was judged to be “Outstanding”. Comments from the inspection include “Worship is at the heart of the school community”, There are high expectations for children both academically, pastorally and spiritually”, “…the children think that times of reflection are important as they help them to think about the way they live their lives and behave towards others”. We are proud of this judgement and are working to build further on the strong links between the Church and school.  You can read the full report by following this link.

Awards and Accreditations
We have worked hard as a school to attain our third Eco-Schools Green Flag award that recognises our commitment to sustainability issues and we maintain our Healthy Schools status through our work to improve children's health, wellbeing and happiness.  We have been awarded a Platinum Green Travel Mark by Kent County Council for our efforts in promoting the Active Bug scheme that encourages children to walk, cycle or scoot to school and we have been awarded the Gold School Games Award that recognises our commitment and provision for sport at our school.
