Last Sunday the annual Dad’s Cricket match took place, again falling on Father’s Day, and despite slightly lower numbers than previous years it turned out to be an immensely enjoyable day with a nail biting finish between two evenly matched teams. A hugely impressive 448 runs were scored over the 60 overs with some eye-catching individual batting and bowling performances, with the Caretakers XI coming out the eventual narrow victors on this occasion. Despite the early morning shower, we had an impressive number of families come and support the dads and enjoy the wonderful Bethany School setting. Huge thanks of course to Bethany for hosting us but also to the many PTFA volunteers, without whom these types of events would never get off the ground. The bar, BBQ and cream teas were wonderful as always and the bouncy castle went down well with all the children present. Thanks to all the players and the volunteers we have raised a wonderful £405 to go towards PTFA funds. Well done everyone!
Then on Wednesday we held a special Father's Day lunch. Over 40 dad's and grandads joined us and enjoyed a delicious roast and I am pleased to say there were lots of clean plates! Thank you to Contract Dining and the lunch-time staff for ensuring there was not only enough food, but that everything went smoothly.
