Fire Striking and Stewed Apple

Submitted by class2 on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - 16:27

Another beautiful day in the woods today. There were lots of fungi to look at and the children were able to identify a couple using the books. We enjoyed fire striking with Bumble Bee and Tawny Owl worked with some children learning how to use knives safely and successfully. The children 'harvested' some woodland apples and Goldcrest had a go at stewing them over the fire. Rather too much water was added and so it took a long time for it to get hot, but Tawny Owl will leave it ready for the children to try tomorrow when it is not so hot. The children played together really well and had a happy afternoon.

Have a look at the class gallery for all the photos.
